Civil Partnership Skinners' Hall

Danny & Ian - 24th August 2013

Skinners' Hall, Dowgate Hill, London

We were very excited to be returning to Skinners' Hall today for our first ever civil partnership.

Both grooms started the day with a trip to the barbers, Ian for a cut throat shave and Turkish massage (which looked more painful than it probably was) while Danny took a trip to Shoreditch for a more conservative beard trim.

After the heatwave that we'd been experiencing the rain poured all day but didn't affect anyone's enjoyment as Skinners' Hall is stunning inside, although it can be quite challenging as it's very dark.

"Best maids" Laura and Helen, Danny and Ian's closest friends, teamed up for a great speech which added to an already very emotional day.

The lucky couple are now celebrating their life together with a fabulous round the world maximoon, kicking off with a few months in Canada. We hope they have a wonderful time.

"We wanted to give a special thank you for our day and for making it special. It was great getting to know you both during the course of the day, really felt that you were on the journey with us. You are both amazingly lovely people, commented on by our guests that you spoke to and particularly our best maids. Thank you so much and we definitely look forward to meeting up again on our return."

"Thank you so much for sending through the slideshow, we waited to watch it until today as on a long train journey in Canada from Toronto to Quebec. Watching it while drinking red wine and Canada zooming past was amazing, and as you know we definitely love the music! We love the photos, just what we were looking for and you have got some amazing shots, managed to really get the essence of people with natural shots ... Thank you so much again."
